GEOHORIZON 2008

Geohorizon is a national level technical symposium for students conducted by the Society of GeoInformatics Engineers (SGE), Institute of Remote Sensing(IRS), Anna University(AU). The event is the first of its kind in the field of Geomatics in India.

This event which is three years old has gained popularity all over the country for its exemplary organization. This fully technical symposium unveils a unique opportunity for students as they get together with the industrial world. Guest lectures from eminent resource persons of reputed institutions and live demonstrations by companies, and instrument displays by IRS serve as an eye-opener for the student community.

The event also witnesses the best brains in the field of GeoInformatics, exhibiting their excellence to the maximum.

SOCIETY OF GEOINFORMATIC ENGINEERS

Society of GeoInformatics Engineers (SGE) exclusively for Geo-informatics engineers inaugurated by Dr.Navalgund, Director NRSA, Hyderabad on 30th September, 2004 in lieu of the student community, to help them take part in for the betterment of their understanding the various subjects of Geomatics and to work for the Geomatic Community as a whole.At SGE we conduct regular weekly activities to ensure sharing of ideas on various subjects of GeoInformatics. SGE also intended the increase of participation between the students and the corporate community. It enlightened students as to what the corporate community expected form them.The Society also conducts regular events and lectures by eminent persons of the geocommunity for the betterment of the students. The Society is the first student organization of this kind pursuing excellence in the Geomatic Community.

We are pleased to inform you about GEOHORIZON ’08 the National Level Technical Symposium conducted for the students by the Society of GeoInformatics Engineers, Institute of Remote Sensing,Anna University is scheduled to be held on 7th & 8th March, 2008.
